The notary decides at each appointment whether the legal requirements for a notarial act are met. A request or a scheduled appointment does not guarantee that a document will be notarized. A notary public is not an attorney and cannot give legal advice. Fees are limited to those Connecticut law permits and are disclosed before an appointment is confirmed.
